I believe  this qualifies as a CH&TS topic.  While messing with Ruby today I decided to see how it handles MySQL.  But i keep getting confronted with "your client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading your client." when running the included test file.  I'm using MySQL 5.0.51 server and MySQL 5.1.11 Client...  I even tried the Use Old Passwords Trick...  I'm at a loss...

If you're using Rails for web development you might pop over to the Web Design forum. If developing an app game programming and scripting might be helpful as well.

Well, i'm just messing with Ruby And MySQL.  No Applications just fooling around.  I actually get an error a lot like this when working with scripts, but as it is the MySQL, and nothing Web-based, that seems at fault I post here.
