Clest character and mech templates

Okay, here I will post some templates I made, initially for my own use, but since they are bare, I am leaving then to anyone else who may find an use to then, be it for free or commercial use.

So let?s start:

RTP sized male: Made this one when I wanted to make RTP sized characters, but with different look on body proportions since I don?t like the RTP that much.

RTP sized female: Just famela version of the above.

RTP sized Sample: Some characters I made using those templates;

Small charsets:
Those where made to be compatible with my mech charset template, they should be in the actual proportion to enter the mech?s chest cockpits, or at least appear to :P No samples yet, maybe by next week...

Small charset male:

Small charset female:

Mech charset and animation template: Those I made for my games mechs, they are larger than the Knight Blades ones by a bit and are tottally unshaded since it is just a pose and proportions guide.

Mech animations:

Mech charset: Flat and Shaded

Well, dunno if anyone will care to use those, but feel free to :)

Well I would initially leave it as is and post some samples of actual mechs once I get then coloured, but I can shade the bare template by next week :)

Thanks for the comment.

Wel I usually covered the head with hair and the rest of the body was colored, I thought on full coloring the those templates like I did to the small one, just taking care of some other business for now :)

Thats cool. I'm just bad at full body shading and my people don't usually have gloves so the hands are helpful. I also use small hair as I am not good at long so thats another thing. Take your time though.

I see, well I usually like to shade per character to add different shading based on their outfit :) But anyway, I took my time (last night :P) and now everything is shaded though I left the flat mech for those who want it :)

@WeAreSuperhero: Oh neat, use it and edit at your will :) Hope to see what you do with then ;)

I'm not ... Hugely fond of the char templates. There is very little midtone and their anatomies look ... Not very proportional. But I'm not hugely fond of small char templates anyhow.

The mechs are awesome, though. They have very nice movement. Only thing I'd recommend for the shading though is either add one semi-dark or lighten the black, because the outlines are very apparent. ;)

Well the charsets are more similar to the proportions i use for my art, more Megaman style based.

The tones though I work more individually per character so I use those color tones just to separate shading, which I keep very simple for characters, almost cell shading. But I think those come more for taste though :)

As for the mechs, thankies :) The outlines though are quite visible yet because as I said before, I use then just for proportion, I cover all of the mech body with armor and then use colored contours :)

bojjenclon: Glad you like then, hope they are useful :)

uzumakishade: Thankies! I am using then for a project, mainly mech themed with a lot of my original designs on it, so hope you like it when I get it running :)

Hey clest, I like the template. Good idea having the seperate parts, now people can frakensprite to get all kinds of poses!
Keep it up :)
Have you ever considered making comic strips with your sprites to tell a simple story?
Whatever it was, i'm sure it would get you noticed around here alot more ;)

Thankies Ace!
And hmm a friend of mine used to make sprite comics with our stories and characters... I might make something like that once I get my site running, I actually thought on making a story using mech 3D models (I am building this same template in 3D for mechanics study :P).

I encountered a problem with the mech. i made an awesome mech with it but it looks unreal because the arms don't move...

I noticed as well. So, Ive started on a mech template of my own. (Its actually just this one, but recoloured and with a back change) Its nearly finished, I just need a design of doing the frontways moving arms -_-

But the template does look very nice.
