In my battle system, I have my windows pop up like they do on games such as EarthBound. As in, each character has his/her own status window, and then when it's their turn to do something, the window jolts up a bit then goes back. This works perfectly with what I'm doing, there is one problem however. They continue to jolt up just for them having a turn, even if it's doing nothing. So if the character is dead, or escaping (thus doesn't have a battle action to be executed), they jolt up for a second. Is there a way to clear an action out completely from the turn order list if they are no longer able to do so?
