Chrono Trigger DS...

About a month ago, I bought Chrono Trigger DS. I loved the hell out of Chrono Cross, seeing as it was my first RPG, and decided I HAD to buy Chrono Trigger DS. As soon as I put it in my DS, I couldn't put it down. It had breathtaking pixel art, it's battle system was ORGASMIC, and it had a storyline to die for. The fact that it had around 15 endings was awesome. I beat it on Tuesday, and went the extra mile to get all of my characters to level 99 (mainly Ayla because when she reaches 72 she crits 9999 every time) so Lavos Core was actually pretty easy. One of my favorite things is that this game shows that Square Enix actually gave the game some attention. Oh, and if your wondering, yes this was my first time ever playing any form of Chrono Trigger.

I'm glad to hear you liked one of the best RPG's of all time, I'll agree that SquareEnix did a great job making it on the DS,

I'm guessing your next objective is going to be getting all the endings ? If so, good luck, I tried it, I've only had 6.

I do plan on getting all of them, yes. I only got the one with the balloons so far. Next I plan on getting the developer's ending.

well the game came out a few months ago but i agree, it is really good. i had a completely different idea of what chrono trigger was like before i actually bought it, and it surpassed my expectations by a longshot. i'm kind of at a standstill right now though and i find the story kind of dwindles out as you approach the end of the game and become more and more of a typical rpg. but the first part was fantastic and the time travelling aspect really intrigued me. once you got to travel through time freely though it just sort of got a little "ugh"

Yeah, it went from linear to sort of "Hey you, do anything you want, I'm outta here !"

And you're like "So umm, do I go back or forth in time ?"

Although I don't think it makes the game offputting, it's still a bloody amazing game.

I agree it is pretty cool, but I will never forgive SE for canceling this fan-project:

crono had an incredibly scary face. toriyama art doesn't really translate into 3D without looking a little strange.

but yeah, it was pretty cool. it doesn't really change a lot from the SNES original besides the script (which is pretty good; it fixes all the localization issues and misstatements from the original) and a little arena element which is admittedly really lame after you've played it for about half an hour. really, if you've never played chrono trigger, this is the version you should get, but if you've already gotten through it on the SNES this version isn't so special that you should go out of your way to play it. there's really nothing else that I can say about this that I wouldn't say about the SNES original; it's just a port of a pretty dece rpg with some extras tossed in.
