Characters are repeating events?

I have a NPC at the very start of my game, to give the player a tutorial. I managed to work the move route around so he jumps the fence to the backyard and goes to the spot I want him to.

The thing is, once he's there. He re-does the event, again and again. How can I make it so he only goes once, then stops until I go and talk to him?

I suppose you're using the event as an Autorun - after the processing is done, turn Self Switch A on using the event command and put a second, empty page with Self Switch A = ON as a condition, action button trigger.

Another problem... sorry.

The NPC goes to the backyard just fine, stays there, allows me to move and all. But the second I exit my house going to the backyard, the NPC is at his starting position, before he jumped the fence.

Furthermore, the NPC, if talked to, just disappears. Poof.

No, I haven't edited any scripts.

Do you want the character to still be there? I haven't been paying attention. If you do, then select a switch to be turned on at the end, and add a conditional branch that says if that switch is on, have the character say just normal dialog. If you don't, just stick an deleteevent.self at the end of it.

Are you sure you have the event set up properly?

At the end of the first page, you should have "Control Self-Switch A = On". On the second page, have "Conditions: Self Switch A is On", and Show Text for whatever you want the NPC to say if you talk to him.
