Character is moving during an event

I realized that my character can move during an event!  How do you make it so that your characters are unable to move during any event unless specified?

Use Autorun?

So that'll stop it?  Though if I run the event on Parallel Process it won't work?  Huh....

That's exactly what Parallel Process is for-- events that keep running while the character (or other events) do their thing.
