Character Art from my project

Ok so this will be my first drawing (I can doodle stick men well though) since primary school (grade 7) so the lines are a bit sketchy and some parts of their body might look awkward, anyway onto the picture itself.

This is a piece of art for my game I'm creating which will probably serve as a profile picture for some of them (I have to add more, plus the background still) as drawing with a mouse is annoying as hell.

This is a version about 2 hours ago, [Edit: It didnt take my 2 hours to create that last character.. he was the easiest and took like 20 mins, I just took a break as well :P)

and this is the 3 finished,

The guy on the right only has 1 arm because he's just bad ass like that.

Again it's rough because it's my first piece of art and uncoloured.

I'll probably colour them in or add more of the characters from the game tommorow.

These are his pictures btw. I just hate it when people post links instead of images. No offense, Dasparov.

(Had to re-upload the second one. Apparently Imageshack doesn't let you externally link photos from an album.)

Don't draw with a mouse. NO-ONE does it. One, because it's too hard. Two, because no matter how hard you try, it's still not going to look as good as you want it to. Instead you should sketch on paper, and scan it in. Or buy yourself a sketching tablet that plugs into your PC. The first idea is probably the best. The only sort of drawing that should be done with the mouse is pixelling, and editing pictures eg. Photoshop.

EDIT: Sorry I can't comment more than that, because my drawing ability looks worse than John Howard's eyebrows. Just a little Australian joke there...

Yeah I agree on the whole mouse business, however I was bored early and decided to try and draw some characters for my game and conceptualized them as I went, probably a bad Idea but they were just spur of the moment drawings.

You're having a few problems with your anatomy. The most glaring one is the torsos - if their necks are turned like that, try twisting the torso a little.
Here's a site that I use all the time for anatomy references. Just use the search box on the left of the page.

I shall fix the guy on the left turning as you are right and his neck is in an awkward position compared to his body, cheers for the comment, I didn't really notice it as much until now.

I suggest doing a lot of detailed sketching using pictures and anatomy references.
constructively, you need to work on shoulders and other joints. The joints change shape and look different when they're turned and rotated. It's not something you notice until you really get into the anatomy. But you seem to have a lot of potential. Keep up the good work.

Not trying to highjack this thread or anything, but... I drew these three pictures with a standard roller ball mouse, so don't say that NO-ONE does it or that it's too hard or that it's only good for certain things.

Just because you can't do something doesn't mean that you should discouarge others from doing it.
Practice makes perfect, you know?
