I know this is in the tutorials section... but I'm not sure a better place to put it. There's not really an eventing questions board. So if it needs to be moved, you may do so, or tell me where to go, and I'll repost. Sorry.
Hi,
My game focuses a lot on changing costumes to do different events. For example: One of the firsts quests requires you to steal a guard's uniform so you can break into a castle. Simple enough. But I'd like my character to have his appearance change to the Soldier1 graphic when he wears the costume. Even if the battle graphic doesn't change for now, I'm fine with that. At the moment, I'm using this event to do that.
EDIT - The character's name is X due to a user-naming process.
But for some reason, this only works some of the time. Like, when I walk all the way from the beginning area and grab the costume, before even beginning the quest, which is not needed for it to work, it works just fine. But if I place the starting position in the room, it doesn't work. I think that may be because the beginning map is the one which turns on the "Game Start" switch. But even when I use F9 to turn the switch on, the costume will equip, but doesn't turn the character into the guard.
Also, I did the exact same thing for a chicken suit, to turn the character into a chicken after a series of quests. I used the exact same eventing technique with the parallel process and everything, and it all goes will, but my character doesn't change. But when I did the same with a pig suit, I became a pig...
Is there something I'm missing here? Can you not use some rtp character sheets for your character? Or why would this not work even though it's all set just like the guard's suit.
