Changes to Total Post Count

Hello, just to let you know we will be changing how the total post count for the site is calculated to better reflect the wide array of content the site has. I am posting this in advance just so there is no ruccus.

Basically, as you may or may not know, HBGames is more than just a forum:

• Forums
• Pastebin
• HBChan
• Resources

In short, instead of just being total forum posts, the formula will be:


total posts = (forum posts) + (hbchan posts) + (pastebin posts) + (resources)


In the future it will also include resource comments although some changes need to be made to the resource manager before that happens.


I do not feel this is deceptive as they are legitimate statistics, and are a legitimate part of the site. Nonetheless, I appreciate your feedback on the matter.

NB: The total added into the forum posts, at current, is 6,892 posts, which is not a huge amount but I still feel the stats should reflect the whole site and the whole of our content.

It is revertable if we decide against it.

and wait why would pastebin count? it doesn't really contribute anything it just is there as a convenience.

you may have to do dumb shit like that to get people to notice, sad truth!

the banner marquee deal on the index hasn't changed in i-don't-know-how-long. makes it look like nothing's happening.

anyway my point was: update the news header sometimes. people look at it but only if it changes occasionally.

I am about to edit the system so that resource comments count towards the total post count.

I am not going to mess with user post counts yet.
