Changes depending on what tile you are on? Part2

I asked this question before and someone gave me a link to a script and the thread was closed as being resolved. Hey, not so fast! That script turned out to be too much work so here I am again looking for help.

All I want to do is make different monster troops with different battle backgrounds appear on the world map I am building, depending on where the character happens to be standing. Like if they are in a forest or a desert ect..

But the script someone linked me to was complicated and I could not make any sence of the intructions. So I'll ask for a dumbed down version...how would I go about making it so the troops and backgrounds are changed when the main character touches a certain event? So that way I would make a narrow entrance to a swamp area where I would add an invisible event which changes the troop and background for the entire map to swamp-type stuff, and then when you exit the swamp and enter the desert you touch another event which changes the troop again.

open the event editor, page 2 = change map settings + battleback graphic and choose which one you want, then set the event to player touch.

make sure you apply the same method at the edges of the area to change back.

as for changing troops I dunno if events can be used for that, I have never used the script you mentioned but I'll have a look, and see if I can give better instructions for you.

unless someone beats me to it :)
