Can XP Scripts Work In VX?

Can an RMXP script work in RMVX? I know the coding is a bit different but they are still the same base, right?

VGMaster, RMVX doesn't have a new scripting language, don't comment on something you don't know.

The script editor that was used by many RPG Maker XP users is also making a comeback, this time with an updated language - RGSS2. Users can easily add scripts to the game, edit existing ones and also easily alter the battle vocabulary.

Yes, it does. Don't try to correct something when you don't know it.

No, it doesn't work, I've tried. There's a new scripting language.

They both use Ruby mate. Same language. RGSS is built upon Ruby and so is RGSS2. RGSS2 just adds some minor enhancements upon the current system. He's correct it's not a new language.

Generally?
* As a general rule, scripts for "RPG Maker XP" are not compatible,
so make sure that you are using an "RPG Maker VX" script.
Thats taken right out of the rmvx Insert-files.  So...yeah.  Unless you tweak the script to make it compatable with rmvx, it doesn't look like they'll work.  If someone can find how to make 'em work (like the AMS script) that would be awesome.
