can i add an opening cutscene?

okay i dont know if i spelt it right but it doesint matter...

so does any body know how to make an opening cutscene?
cause i'm getting pretty annoyed of starting a game and it instantly drops me in the game without any explanation

Well it all depends what do you mean opening? If you mean a series of events before the actual game starts but after you've hit New Game on the title screen then its fairly simple, you just create the events and maps you want in the cut scene/intro and then make the player unable to move but able to view the events. Its not a great explanation but there are numerous guides on eventing that can help you achieve this if it is what you want.

You could make a fairly simple intro movie with events by making some pictures and adding text to them, which you can then let scroll over the screen.

I've done a lot of cutscenes in my day. Kind of a hobby. If you want, I can post an example, but it comes down to this:

Do an Autorun event in the first map. In the Autorun event, use Show Text, Set Move Route, Show Picture, Show Animation, and countless other tricks to create the scene you want to create.
