I hope you weren't reffering to mine since those are battlers from rmvx, and despain OKed it.

wumpi's right guys. sorry but we can't accept banners that use art from japanese resource sites. i thought that those were the rtp battlers (which we would allow)

Aww, nobody commented on mine

Shamelessly bumping your work back up is sort of futile since this topic isn't so huge yet that people will miss posts altogether. If no one commented on your work, it's not because they didn't notice it but because they had other things to do.

Here goes anyway, though.

I find it kind of plain, actually. The blue background with lighter blue text isn't very stimulating to the eye, and the idea with ads is always to catch attention. In addition, the slogan "because we're awesome" is a little too flippant to fit the situation, and it would reflect poorly on the maturity of the memberbase. It seems like forced humour, somehow.

And now, allow me to nitpick: your cycling is irregular. That is, the time it takes for the animation to move to a different slide is inconsistent. It's a common mistake in people new to Flash programs, but it can be quite jarring.

I'd suggest you take it back, give it a once-over, and refine it again. To me, most of the problems seem to stem from the banner being rushed -- there's no amazing deadline here, so you don't have to knock these things off bunny-quick. Just put in the time to give it some polish and work out the roughness and it should be a lot better for wear.

Seeing as the first were rejected because they were the work of someone not affiliated with the site, you'd definitely have a better fighting chance if you submitted your own material. It might just be a subjective stylistic choice, however, in which case there's not a lot you can do.

It's worth a try, though. I actually wanna see how your drawing skills are.

If this is simply a stylistic choice, it might be better to say otherwise... With the target audience in consideration, well drawn anime appeals to most users.

If this is a copyright issue, the VX RTP has some viable material.

It's not that great, I just whipped it up today, but I think it gets the general message across. I can always improve it as well.
(I'm not sure if it's colourful enough either...ah well, enjoy!)

Aw, crap, it's got an ugly white line on top for the whole thing. :x
Click.
I don't know how to put the banner directly here either...

dadevster, i like that direction but no .flv's

xilef those aren't bad but i don't thin they have enough punch

also more focus on MAKE GAMES or something, not many people know what "rmxp" stands for and if they did then they're already a  member here
