 I wasn't sure if I had wanted to do this, but decided to do it. My concept is to develop a game rich in story, but more like old Dragon Quest games, with a bit more story, plus characters talking. You explore dungeons, gain exp, and so on. I've been working on graphics, altering them to what I need for the last few days. I began working on this, but well, forgot to put my post.
PLOT: Four characters who might not otherwise get along with each other for reasons that anyone might understand, suddenly realize that they really do have more in common than they original thought. I want a game where by the time, they finish their journey, they not only understand the others more, but learn more about themselves than they originally thought. Misconceptions are every where, as well, as a growing evil in the land.
To do:
I finished up the characters, need to further develop them for the reasons they don't trust and don't like each other. Other than the overused reasons, that is.
Plan dungeons, bosses, and side stories
plan villains and why they are doing what they are doing. --other than overused reasons--
Characters:
Sarai Gotwu - A young woman who wants to enter the magic academy, but with the death of her parents, she is searching for her older brother who is believed to be causing trouble.
Drake Wilcomb - A scholar who bought and owns the St. Arisa's tower, many either call her a goddess, or Arisa the mad, for her papers on science, magic and philosophy. He is rather weak at sword play, magic and knowledge is more his cup of tea so to speak.
Hilda Bloodaxe - A young elven maiden who was banished from her village, when a friend suddenly snapped and attacked her. Forced to defend herself, the village never believed that she was the victim as her attacker had a reputation of gold. She suspects that it was his recent trip to the sky kingdom that caused this tragic ending for a young man that she was not only friends with, but in love with.
Michael Almen - A middle aged soldier who recently lost a great deal of men, not only to the sky kingdom soldiers, demonic force...[must come up with other forces]
On the positive, I have no problems coming up with interesting characters, though, sometimes I do have issues explaining them. I hope that I can finish my game script in a week and my dungeons will come soon after. I haven't decided what the final villain will be, since I am going to be doing a chapter system like Dragon Quest IV. Each character will have an introduction chapter, why they are leaving their village, with minor exception of Michael Almen, whose introduced in Drake Wilcomb's chapter.
Currently- drawing dungeons, and writing story
