C&C Cyberpunk Charset(s)

So I've been wanted to create a cyberpunk game ever since I saw Blade Runner and other material, but I've always done medieval RPG style designs. Well screw that, I am going to re-create all of the RTP style into Wumpi's template design (KettleDragon or something, small, compact and cute).

But please, I need comments and suggestions on the material I create.

So here is my first and second designs (I'll update this post for every material I create).

First we have a bad guy/general guard type character:

And then here is my other main character:

Thanks :)

Okay while the character designs you are looking to copy are nice enough, the sprite work thus far is horribly done. There is absolutely no shading whats so ever. A clean mass of black.
Hopefully it really isn't black but just dark enough to look black (RMXP doesn't handle pure black and white too well).

Even though in those designs there is mats of empty black, it's stylistic and nice - doing so on a sprite makes it look bad and flat. Until I zoomed in I didn't even notice the first had a bit of a mask on. Try using more contrast with your dark colors, cyberpunk isn't all darks and impossible to see, even in the art there is some high contrast to the black with the shading hughs, go with that more.

And give your black mats some form. They look like oil puddles, and if your playing this project with a dark background there's going to be no way half your audience is going to be able to make them out.

Thank you for your input, and I agree that it's very hard to get a good shadow on black :/ but all my material is pretty much.. gothic/urban.. so it is generally all black apart from the implants.

As these are like, my 3rd attempt at spriting, they really arn't good at all. But I will perseveer with this project and update this thread with my creations.

I'll update the images soon, just doing some homework atm.
