Buying a copy of RMXP in USA...

Guys, I'm from Philippines, planning to buy RPG Maker XP from USA when I get there. So if I bought it from USA, am I now capable of making indie games and sell games created from it? Also, I plan to bring it back to Philippines. Would I still be able to create and sell games, regardless of location? Provided that I have the original copy...

EDIT: I think I found it, but I wonder if I'll be able to do the same when I get back to Philippines.

The license you earn by purchasing the program will be the same in the Philippines as it is in the USA. You will be able to use the software, and you will be able to sell games you make with it. The main limitations are related to the RTP and using it elsewhere, as well as reverse engineering the program itself. Neither of those should be of concern if you don't plan to hack the program or use the images/audio elsewhere.

Thanks ^_^ I've been waiting for that. I'm wonderin' how come Aveyond became popular (in Reflexive Games and others) in spite of being made in RMXP... I'd like to try out sellin' my games too.

Aveyond was able to become a commercial product because of the outstanding time and effort that was put into it.
It's not like you can just scrap together a game and it'll be bought.

Aveyond is in a niche community where RPG Maker isn't (well, wasn't) common. It didn't sell very well in the largely RPG Maker oriented communities such as this place. That is not to say a game couldn't sell well here - I'm sure it could - just it has to be different to sell well in a community where most projects are essentially the same.

@como: In that case, maybe I can sell a game in Philippines, since only very few of us Filipinos are inclined to RPG Maker.
