Brand new user

Hi everyone,

I'm Jelle, nicknamed skerit. Last year I started work on a HTML5 canvas engine, chrome users can take a look at it here:

I got sidetracked with lots of different projects, but I hope to get development going again.

My plan is to open-source the engine while creating a game that I can monetize for my non-profit organisation "Kipdola Studios vzw"

what exactly are you aiming for with a canvas engine?
i don't know what to imagine.

Did you try it in the latest Chrome? I actually didn't give all the details: it's a *multiplayer* engine.
So your browser needs websockets enabled (in Chrome by default)

Because of the ongoing changes to the Websocket protocol you also need the latest chrome, other versions won't connect.
(Down the road I'm going to implement a flash fallback thing, so that people without websockets can also connect)

My endgame is to get it up and running for free, with maybe some nice extra pay-for-content thingies.

there are a lot of people here that mostly focus on design and looks yeah,
also it works now (i updated, you were right)

the moving and interaction part is pretty much working, very nice
it's a bit glitchy still, but it's definetly a good start

Nice Canvas system , looks pretty cool I'm also working on an browser project I guess I'm going to have to learn some more java to have it running as good as yours lol btw it works in firefox but its a little slow not bad though you should join us in the IRC chat there's a few programmers on there including myself, anyways welcome to the forums have fun!
