Big Monsters in Mr. Mo's ABS (not script related... i think!)

Hey everybody. Great forums you all have here first of all, seems like a cool place.
Sorry to make my first post a question, but I am a novice to this new rpg maker (i was ok with 2003 a few years ago, but have sense lost most of my abilities just from not using them in so long).
Basically I want to know a way to make big monsters with multiple hit boxes such as large bosses for an action-adventure (think Zelda) kind of game. I believe this would be mostly event based, and I even have some ideas has to how to do it, but I was just wondering if anyone had some tips on how to do this. Would pictures be the best way to go about it? Can I use animated pictures to make it a little more real looking? Is RMXP going to respond well enough to make this look cool, or will it just look blocky and weird?

Thanks for any help, its appreciated!

Well...The only thing that I can think of that would seem to satisfy what you want would be what you already suggested yourself. I would take the enemy and break it into four parts (or nine or howevermany while still keeping it either square or rectangular). I would suggest drawing your monster first, then splitting so that it fits together nice and without seems. Then place them on the map all next to each other so that they look like one monster. The tricky part would be getting them all to move together and/or die together if one dies. If you want it imoblie, it would be easier, but then to get them to die together would be a lot tougher. I think from here it goes into some scripting. I'll find a regular version of Mr. Mo's ABS and look into it. Hopefully someone else might come along and finish it for you though.

Good Luck!

XAS definitly looks like it can do a lot more, but I dunno about easier to use, especially without a translation and with my moderetly limited knowledge of scripting. I don't know if I have the patience to write out a full set of spells and such, haha.
