Big Mecha Demon... thing.

OK, so, I've been staring at this thing for a long time and it's really bugging the poop outta me.

It's a sentient Mech creature in my game, Kinetic Phase that's part of a big scene and blah blah...

I'm happy with the shape and style, I think.
But it's just not looking right. I want it to look more... shabby? It's supposed to have been inactive for a long time, but everything I try to make it look older, yet fully functional just doesnt quite work.

PS the darkness is deliberate since it's only ever in one place which is pretty poorly lit and dark and atmospheric and blah. Also, the lights are actually on a seperate layer, I'm not entirely sure why I added them to the base image in this post... meh.

Not too bad. I like the style, but if it's old, try some rust or something.

I like it. It has a sort of cartoony feel to it. To make it older, I would use browns and rist colors, just as near says. It is too shiny and sheek for it to be old.

Change the palette to a brown and with the teal lights, make them dimmer and have darkening effects around the edges, like dirt is blocking out part of it where it gathered around the edges

Mess with the shading a tiny bit to make it not have perfect symmetrical shading.

Actually, depending on the light source, it can look like that.

I suggest you turn the lights off for a start.

Oh yeah and dim the highlights and change the hue to orange/red slightly, not so blue.

Kinda reminds me of Vegnagun... Maybe it's something really similar to the story of FFX-2.

I disagree with the warm colors. If you want to make it red and yellow, that's your perogative. It would make the thing look a little meaner, yes, but if you want it a cool color and still be ominous, make the blues more purple.

adding red/orange to blue makes what color now? red + blue = purple, little bit of orange + blue stars to get a more dirty purple.

Hmm if it's supposed to be an older mecha, instead of making it look roughed up and rusted and its still supposed to look fully functional why not just make the technology it uses not as advanced as newer models of mechas.
