Best Sandbox RPG?

My opinion? Currently, Fallout 3. Why? Well, besides the amazing gameplay (yes, it has its faults, but VATS is too much fun to ignore) I found that the characters you meet were all somewhat interesting, and made you feel involved. I found Oblivion for example, dry and cold. In Fallout, characters react to you bumping in to them more realistically, not by telling you off immediately. Seems like a small deal, but it makes a whole of a lot difference to me.

Of all time? Daggerfall. That game was wicked long, and really just an epic absorbing adventure. Although outdated graphics and distracting gameplay seem like a hassle these days, where so many pumped up games are available, I suggest this game to any RPG fan.

Wow, reading that it sounds like I work for Bethesda haha. Anyway, I just felt like sharing that, and hearing what you guys think.

daggerfall was HARD AS FUCK. i really dig the oldschool 3d with sprites rpgs tho.
i have to say morrowind with the expansions. i spent an unhealthy amount of time on that game..

i really want fallout 3 man D:

Yeah it was ^ especially now, since the process of DOS'in up your computer to play it is quite annoying. Morrowind was great as well.

Also, Fallout is definitely a game you should buy if you're in to the combination of a slow shooter and a fast rpg ^

Awesome Bro

Well Fallout 3 in my opinion wasn't too good, I mean it got all this good praise, yet when I played it, it seemed empty, yeah sure the story was okay, the gameplay wasn't too bad, but the lack of adventure, of exploration, maybe it's because it all took place in one area, a wasteland where every square of land has been copied and pasted, although I must say, the explosion of Megaton from Tenpenny Tower was pretty god damned awesome, and the Half pint killer was fun as hell, lol.

Hmm, I'm not really sure what my favourite Sandbox RPG is, I mean, I liked Morrowind and Oblivion, I kinda hated Two Worlds (Dayum how bad was that game !?), however I really liked the original Fallout, if that counts lol.

Of course I'd count the original fallout, it was amazing and did a TON for the RPG genre that year. The new Fallout isn't really a game for everyone, mainly because not everyone is in to shooters. If you are, then you know very well that for a shooter, Fallout 3 was amazing. The RPG aspect of it was bland, I agree.. Mainly because of the repetitiveness. I really enjoyed the Subway areas... They gave a sense of realism, since enemies could just pop out of nowhere, rather than be visible a hundred miles away haha.

As for Two Worlds... Oh man, was that game CRAP. Even if you looked past the horrible design and story, the technical issues were so annoying and present ALL the time haha.
