Battler Graphics

I've been having this problem. I've checked the places where a solution to this problem would probably be found at, but I obviously couldn't find it. Maybe, I overlooked a few places, but I've already attempted to search for a solution.

A Screenshot of what my problem is.

My Battlers have always been having that problem. Having a pixel-y border around it.
I know it seems as if it's just one Battler that's been getting these problems, but it's happened many times before.

^^^ Those are other times when I had this problem. That project was KH-Based, haha. Loads of characters. Art was by my one of my friends. I was working with a whole bunch of people when I was making this project, but now I'm on a new one, since it's been a while since my friends gave me more resources for the Project.

But anyways, does anyone have a solution to this Pixel-y Border of Doom? I'd really appreciate it.
You can even post a Thread that has the solution in it.

OK, here's the solution. Did you open these in MSpaint? If so, there's your problem. These look like they've got transparencies attached, but opening them in paint has changed the transparencies to a white background. Thus, instead of transparent black, for example, you've got a light grey. This won't be selected by the importer, leading to these borders.

Too bad I didn't open them in MSPaint...
I hardly use the program, anyway. Only for screenshots.

I doubt the problem is RMXP. the default battlers look fine, right?
probably a problem with the pictures. open them in photoshop/other program, select all the bg and color it with SOLID white.
if the pictures are good quality, it should be easy.

Ok i really think all that you have to do is go to paint, Colour the background BLUE. For an example ANy colour that isn't White to Gray to black. Then Go to view; Zoom in; Lage size.
Now get the Eraser Or fill tool or pencil or line tool anything that changes to colour around the outside of the character. What you want to do is erase all the Grayish White and whiteish coulours from around the Image. Then change the coulour back to White as the background and keep doing this until the white is gone. im about 99% sure this will work.

Wow, typeing lol.

In conclution. The WHOLE background Needs to be WHITE not anything but pure WHITE.

This becomes a lot easier if you have Photoshop, Paint .NET, Gimp. The last two are free for download. Each has a magic eraser or magic select tool which will grab like colors, set the tolerance pretty high and select the white background and if anti-aliasing is available apply it. It will smooth the edges so the pixels aren't jaggy on the edges. And you might need to try a couple of times to get it right. To better tell if you have all the gray match it against a black background. After that is all done, you need to save the file as a .png with background consisting of only as a transparency layer. Then don't import the battler into the game. Just open the graphics/battler/ folder of your game and drop them in there. With pngs the transparency is saved with the image. No need to specify a key color. At least that's my limited understanding of the subject.

Good luck with it FiveGallon! :thumb:

Thank you so much, my friends.
It was pretty easy for me since I have Photoshop and I'm pretty good at it, haha.
Now, my battler graphics don't have the stupid border around it anymore.
I appreciate it.
