Battle Menu Sprite help

Hello, I am new to these forums so I hope someone else hasn't already asked this question because I could not find anything on it. Anyway, with the standard RPG Maker XP battle system, when you get into a battle your character's graphic is on the menu. It is slightly see through, but it still gets in the way of my Gradient bars and what not. I would like to know how to completely get rid of the character picture/graphic. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

If I understand you right, all you have to do is go to the database and go to the actors tab, and click on the battle graphic picture for that actor, and select none.
