Battle Animations look faded/washed-out in game [resolved]

I'm trying to use battle animations to display little "emotion bubbles" above my characters' heads, but when I test my game, the colors come out really light. Blacks and greys disappear entirely to become transparent, even though pink is my transparent (+semitransparent) color. I'm totally baffled. My sprites imported without any color changes, and the bubble colors are OK when I look at their frames in the animations tab.

Ah. It is because your animation is on 'Add'. Add blending makes things a lot brighter.
To take it off add, go to your animation,
click 'cell batch', and check the blending option and select normal.
That will put all frames of the animation on 'Normal' instead of Add.
