so i seen the commercial, and HAD to watch it.
Batman: gotham knight is an animated batman film which consists of 6 'short's directed, written, and styled all by different teams (similar to the animatrix). It's also all animu animation. joy.
really tho, it's not bad if you can stomach your favorite childhood superhero styled to look absolutely retarded at times. at times he looks the way we know and love. my favorite style was the very first segment, they gave him this cartoony, funky look.
the segments seemed to only connect very loosely, if even at all, but separately, they worked well by themselves. some of them were pretty awesome (first, especially). Some were kinda cool. one of them was just plain fucking boring as hell (i dont want to watch bruce wayne fucking meditate and 'train' his mind cutting back and forth to him struggling out of a sewer and training in india, pretty much making him look very un-cool).
seeing batman animated in great detail, and beating the shit out of people all over again was cool, but seeing bruce wayne as a lame ass anime character is unforgivable. not to mention the adaption of him in the 3rd segment (this one) which was just plain horrendous. Then there was the EXTREME CAMERA ANGLE chapter where I could hardly tell what was going on half the time. ups and downs. ups and downs..
anyway, i'm done rambling and bitching about what is essentially my loathing for anime stylings. all-in-all it's worth watching for anyone interested in the DC universe, or just batman in general.
it has some really badass, classical batman-style beatdowns, which makes it worth the shitty boring parts.
