IGN -
In Batman: Arkham Asylum the player assumes the role of Batman as he delivers The Joker to Arkham Asylum. There, the imprisoned super-villains have set a trap and an immersive combat gaming experience unfolds. With an original script penned by Emmy Award-winning Batman writer Paul Dini, the game brings the universe of DC Comics' detective to life!

Batman: Arkham Asylum exposes players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure that takes them to the depths of Arkham Asylum -- Gotham's psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. Gamers will move in the shadows, instigate fear amongst their enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham City's most notorious villains who have taken over the asylum. Using a wide range of Batman's gadgets and abilities, players will become the invisible predator and attempt to foil The Joker's demented scheme.

I'm surprised no one has made a topic for this game. From the looks of things this game looks awesome, and looks to be the best comic book game. The combat system looks really fun, as do the upgrades and characters look awesome. I've pre-ordered it already, and can't wait for it on the 3rd of September. I only wish it had some sort of online feature, co-op or something. (But not with Robin, cause well... he's gay.)

Anyway what are your thoughts about the game?

I tried the demo, and unlike Mega Flare, I think that the demo kicked ass. I really am thinking of buying this at launch. It = Epic.

Yeah, the demo could have been orchestrated better, but the game is fuckin' cool. I don't see myself buying it however. It seems like the formula would get a bit repetitive.

I'm saving my money for God of war III. All there is to it. I played a demo of this at Target, though, and it was pretty fun. I wouldn't say it was bad.

Mreh. I found it fun for a couple of hours. It got highly repetitive though. Playing as the Joker was a nice plus.

The gargoyles being EVERYWHERE was funny at first. It got sort of astetically annoying as time progressed. I wouldn't spend $60 on it. Hell, I wouldn't spend $30. $19.99 would be the ideal price. In my opinion, rent it and wait until a used copy drops down in the $20-25 range.

I have to say this game is one of the coolest games I have ever seen (I haven't gotten to play anything but the demo but my step dad has the full game and I've watched him play) It has amazing graphics imo. Like when you are outside the cape blows in the wind, you can see every stitch in the suit kinda graphics. And the further you get in the game, the more tears and cuts his suit gets. Even the small details in this game are freakin awesome. So far I love the scarecrow parts. Batman will be walking down a hall, about to do whatever hes going to do. He finishes it only to start having weird hallucinations. Then you walk into a room with a 100 ft tall scarecrow man. I mean really, its awesome. I've gotta say I almost wanted to get this game instead of pre-ordering Halo 3: ODST. This game was just pulled off VERY well. And for those who don't like it? It just may not be your type of game. If you love action games / puzzle games / stealth games. Get this game. It rocks.

I really really really liked the demo when I played it. I mean, the combat is just the most goddamn fluid thing I've ever seen. You can combo from ANY attack at any time. Even if you get hit (unless obviously you get knocked down), you just turn right around and elbow that mofo in the face. I love stealth, but the combat for this game makes me never want to do stealth.

I also love the Slow-motion effects and the zoom in effects while in combat. They time them PERFECTLY.

I bought a Geforce GTX275 sometime ago and It gave me a coupon code to download the game. I'm going to try it out once it finishes downloading.:

What do you think of the tumbler in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight? I think it's a piece of trash! The best batmobile is the 92 batmobile from Batman Returns which by the way is the best Batman movie.
