Wow, I thought people just forgot about this tutorial.  Since it seems some people are still interested, maybe I'll try to make a script out of it.  :shock:

You just love to contradict my phrasing, don't you?  :grin:  Yeah...I actually think conditional branches are a requirement simply because they are necessary to complete the system (in othere words 'required').  Regardless, I just wanted to mention them somewhere, and under "Requirements" happens to be the best place.  Again, any sugestions are welcome.

I'm not sure if you meant for this to happen or not (in the demo), but everytime you use the 'Test Interest' command you're amount of stored gold increases to what it was going to be.
 
O.k. then, but it'd make more sense if you could set it so that interest was collected after every 5 battles or something. Otherwise, just c+p-ing would make it easy to gain money.
 
You can call the interest common event on demand whenever you want.  I just did that as an example of how it works.  Honestly, you can call it however you want.  If you have a day/night system, you can call it each night or something.  It's not supposed to be something the player can directly access in-game so they should not be getting rich off of it.
 
I don't even know how to MAKE a Day/Night system (but I'm not that bothered tbh).

It's just a flaw with the example and AFAIK a lot of people would just copy and paste the whole things thereby causing a problem...
 
I understand that, but that is why each common event is on it's own.  I explained how to make it, and it's up to the user to know how to call the common event without copying the example.  Anyone who uses the demo should realize this.

P.S. Maybe I'll make a Day/Night event system tutorial.
 
I understand that, but some people will just use the demo and copy the common events into their game without thinking about it.

I'd be interested to see a D/N tutorial but I wouldn't use it much - if ever tbh.

I made a day/night system for my two-week contest game.  I'd be more than happy to share the common event to save you some time (because it took me forever to do it).

Also, very good tutorial!  I'm thinking about implementing it in my game when I go through (have to make a LOT of changes).
 
Sure, if you want to post your D/N system it would certainly save some time for me.  I already know exactly how to make one, but I'd still be interested in seeing yours.
 
Yeah...that's not the way I would have done it.  The reason it freezes is because you are using a loop.  If it's on parallel process, it will loop automatically.  If you use the loop wrong, your game will freeze.
 
Wait, I cant get it to work. When I deposit something, it doesnt, like, record it, so it doesnt take it from me OR add it to the bank. Any help?
