I went on a semi-short vacation to my aunt's house on Thursday and got back Tuesday. I decided against making a topic when I was leaving because I doubted anyone would care, but I have pictures from the vacation, so I wanted to make a topic. :wink:
My aunt lives on a farm, which she moved into a few years ago. Her husband plants and harvests hay, and they have cows which they sell and chickens for eggs. I actually really enjoyed working and helping them out with loading hay and stuff, but I'm extremely sore now. :dead: It was also my first introduction to the Amish, and it's amazing that they manage to retain their ideas. They basically choose to reject technology and live without electricity or plumbing (although they do sometimes make some messed-up exceptions). I think it's pointless to choose a hard living when you don't have to, but I do admire their dedication.
My favorite part of the trip was the waterfall that is a part of my aunt's property. You have no idea how much I love swimming, and we usually spent a couple of hours each day down there. I climbed up the waterfall a bit (which you'll see in the pictures), which was definitely fun, although a little scary. The only problem is that there are small leeches in the stream and creek, but it wasn't a major problem if we wore water shoes.
Now, pictures! I don't have all of them right now, but I'll show you what I have so far.

The last one looks awesome! It looks like a hooded figure is coming out of the waterfall. That's going to be my new avatar for awhile. :thumb:

This one has a little story behind her. She has an injured leg, which probably happened during birth or very early in her life. Because of it, her one leg sticks out to the side instead of going down. The other chicks picked on her, and my aunt wasn't sure what to do with her, so...I took her home. I now have a pet chick! ^-^;
