Awesome new 2D fighting game for PC!!!

Really? Cool, if anyone wants to host it, I'd be more than happy to agree and post the link on the game's blog site as well as here.

hey I finally got a chance to sit down and play this for a while, and I gotta say, it's pretty badass. I've got a couple good points, and a couple points to improve on!

Bad points:

A. Strider! His attack that hits across the screen doesn't register as something to block for basically any of the opponents if they're at the edge of his range. The only two people that blocked it (see lower good point!) were Guile and Charlie.

B. Some of the people are pretty unbalanced, like Rock, he hits ridiculously hard. I understand that it's mainly because he's kind of slow and short range, but he's got quick attacks, and his specials do like 3/4 of anyone's health bar. He should probably be toned down (I'm sure there were others like him but he's just who I was playing as in arcade)

C. Some of the AI is pretty laughably bad, like Rock. I figured out how to play as him, the AI apparently didn't. It's just kind of uneven across the board, people like Charlie and Guile kick ass, while people like Rock can't manage to get the range of their attacks correct.

D. A few people have some glitched costume colors, like when they're in a different than normal color, one frame in their idle animation will be their original color (Dr. Doom and one of the Zero's does this)

Good points:

A. Kick-ass game overall.

B. Charlie, Guile, and Soygetsu (dunno if that's the right spelling) all stand out as fantastic AI, and soygetsu was even able to get over that Strider thing by just jumping around and grabbing me from the air a lot, and using his weird little water attacks.

So all in all, good job, albeit with some points that might require a patch or something. None of them are game breaking since the AI don't abuse them at all however.

Yeah considering all of these characters are pre-made and have coding that comes with them, all he did was put them in the mugen engine which takes 5 seconds to do.

Would you be able to make a version like the Marvel Vs Capcom games where each person can select two or three characters?

To address a few issues:

Andy6000: I appreciate the feedback and will try to fix those issues with a future patch which should also include more characters. I noticed other bugs later on to fix as well. Keep in mind I finished this project about 2 years back, and only recently shared it online.

rexxzecutioner: Do not be so naive to think I put this together in 5 seconds. Just the fact that each character has all their stages included with the original music took me more than long enough. I recorded each song from every stage and matched them using arcade emulators which took a long time to ensure all the classic themes were there in true form.

I also worked a long time testing and balancing the characters to make sure nobody would be too offblance, while keeping in mind the levels that should exist between chars (meaning evil ryu should be stronger than ryu).

I also reprogrammed the keys to match, so that everyone uses the same key layout. I also fixed and added protraits to match each character in order to make them under the banner of one game.

All this takes alot of time, had I made all the chars into mugen as well, the game would have been impossible to complete in the time it took. Do you think the mugen programmers made the sprites or sound effects for the chars, or even came up with the programming language. Of course not.

Every game has different people working on different aspects to make it complete. I never even claim to have made this game from scratch, so easy on the diss. I merely directed the project and produced it into a final version people can enjoy, far different than simply putting made-mugen chars together without any refinement or direction.

Monk: Unfortunately the programming language of mugen is not open-source, so I can only programme according to what they initially allowed. And since tag team battle wasn't included in their idea it cannot be done unless a new version of the source is available, or they release an open-source and I add to it with a programming tool.

There is however a 2-on-2 all on one screen, or 2-on-1 like in street fighter alpha 3. You can actually play the arcade story mode with your friend together against the computers. I find that an amazing and unique feature in itself.

To everyone else who commented and tried it out: Thanks and enjoy!

I spent four hours dling it (MEGAUPLOAD finally worked!), but it says that Part 2 is corrupt. WHAT THE FUXORS!!!!

Has anyone else had this problem? Perhaps part 2 didn't download properly so the rar is corrupt.

But I tested it before uploading, and others have had no problems, what internet connection do you have, 4 hours seems a bit long, megaupload has generally good download speed.

I have satalite internet. I downloaded part two while I was out to eat, so I though it took four hours in all, but I checked and it only took 3 hours. I have reason to believe that my little brother canceled the download at some, causing the 'unexpected end of file' error that came with the 'corrupt file' error. I'll try dling it again. Peace!

EDIT: That made it work! It really is fun. It flows really well, and is a lot less Laggy than I expected. Great work!

I'll load the files on my site for you tonight. Should be done in a few hours. I personally really like the game, so excellent work my Man. I expect you to now make me into a character and make me all sorts of awesome, etc :P lol

EDIT: First one is up, and next is currently uploading. Head over to http://www.pcis-studios.com/MSHse to DL em.

Thanks alot, if you're uploading to your own personal site, why not rar the iso and upload it as one file instead though. That way people only need to download one file, unzip it, and play?

Thanks again, I'll work on a patch as time permits that will fix some bugs, as well as add a few new characters. http://marvelsuperheroesse.blogspot.com will host all update information related to the game, and this thread will be the main discussion if anyone comes across a bug or something else that needs changing within the game.

Cool, please make it a self-extracting zip or rar if possible so that people don't require winRAR to extract the iso. Thanks again, let me know when it's up.

Awesome, thanks a million. I'll update the blog to include the new download link.

Case sensitive... that is weird :S. Btw, do you want me to link to your main webpage as well?

I tried making a game with mugen once, wasn't as easy as I thought. You really did a great job of balancing and setting up the characters to work with one another.

Nah, that's ok...right now it's kinda down

Then why did you download it, just so you could come here and make fun of it. What an ass you are. There isn't even a reason for you to post.
