Awesome new 2D fighting game for PC!!!

If anyone is interested, I just finished uploading and setting up the blog for my finished mugen-based 2d-fighting game.

It has over 100 characters, all setup and balanced for near-even play, including chars from capcom, snk, and marvel. With every single stage for street fighter, marvel fighting games, kof, etc, with the original musics all hand recorded from mame roms.

Check out http://Marvelsuperheroesse.blogspot.com for more info.

You can also download it directly here: Download Full Version.

It took awhile to put together but it's finally here with installer, iso, and all.

Here are some screens:

One question: Does it support game pads?

Looks cool. Checking it out now. BTW, how easy is Mugen? I lloked around, but couldn't find any links to an actual program.

EDIT: I hate Megaupload, and I don't have a CD to waste on something I can't guarantee is worth downloading. Is there another way to play the game without using the CD? I've tried Daemon before, but it wouldn't work.

Yes it supports gamepads.

Mugen is quite easy to use if you follow the simple instructions, programming acutal characters is more difficult.

I can guarantee if you like 2d fighting games you'll love it, it's well fit so that players play well together and are balanced. If you download just any mugen combo it won't play as smooth together.

Yes you can mount it with daemon tools, install the program (you may have to restart first), then just mount the image with daemon tools, install and that's it.

Also, cds are like 50c, you don't have even one?

Does it contain credits for every author?

Do you have every author's permission to use their fighters in a compiled package?

Or are you just warehousing this, something the MUGEN community completely hates.

To be honest, while I appreciate what authors have done to bring characters to mugen, in reality the works are all the copyrights of marvel, capcom, snk and others and they have little right to object to their use in a compiled game not aimed at mass distributing them, rather enjoying them in a user-friendly packaged game.

Basically, I wanted to make an enjoyable solid 2d fighter game for people to enjoy. Any modified characters have been contacted and approved of by their mugen authors. I don't consider this a warehouse, while a knowledgeable mugen user could in theory copy the chars from my game for their own, my target audience was more lay people who know little of mugen and just want to enjoy a good 2d fighter. Besides, many of these chars are discontinued from when they were started years ago when I began using mugen.

I'm definetly playing this. My other favorite type of game genre is 3D fighting games like Virtual Fighter 5 and Tekken. I'll give it a try and tell ya what I think.

Nice man...I always had wanted to toy around with MUGEN and make a completely custom fighting game, but I just didn't have the skill to (artistically or otherwise) actually go through with it.

EDIT: Also, how big is this altogether? I may be able to give you a better means of hosting it

Thanks Grandor, I also like Tekken alot. I remember when I first played it, the first one ever on ps1, who would have thought it'd get so big.

Thanks Sketch, I hope you enjoy it, it's about 650Megs though, that's why I had to separate it in two parts for megaupload. If you have a better host, let me know.

Try it out and let me know what you think.

It's no problem. It looks like an excellent game so far. I like the character roster, I've never been keen on only getting a few characters to fight with.

Have you tried it out yet? How do you find it, I wanted to make the game start with about 20chars and you unlock more as you go along, but the programming wasn't opensource and therefore was impossible to customize beyond its limits.

Sorry, but no. I am not allowed to spend a cent of my money until I get a car. And all my money is in the form of solid bills, so my parents would know if I tried to break one up. I can steal one from my friends, but I can't reach them right now. And I tried Daemon a while back. It didn't do anything. At all.

Well, I hope this gets hosted somewhere else soon. I would really like to be able to use my Gamepad for once.

Pete: No, unfortunately it does not support online multiplayer, I wiss it did, but the source for the base fighter programmer was not released and the company seems to have vanished from all site.

OShadow: Well it definitely supports two gamepads, too bad about your cd problem. Daemon tools is quite easy, simply download, install, restart, follow program instructions. Just click the red lighting icon that appears to the taskbar, then select the game iso, simple as that.

Yes, I have tried it out. It's okay if you don't unlock characters (although that would be a nice feature) I like some of the moves you incorporated and the graphics are great. I don't know where you got them from but they look very close to the characters they represent like Ken from Street Fighter.

Alright, I got a new version of Daemon, but Megaupload says I can't download anymore. Feels like a lot of crap that I can't play this yet.

I just checked for downloading and megaupload seems fine to me, maybe the area you are in has reached the download limit for this time, try waiting a bit.

In the meantime, Sketch, do you have a better hosting idea for this game? One that can host files up to 700megs?
