Spoiler: Shirt graphic design (17-06-'08)

So, I was making a graphic to put on a t-shirt.
Don't ask me why.

Anyway, it had to have something to do with the letters T.G.O.T.
Anyone playing WoW might recognize them.
(for the record, I don't)

Err.. the dude in question (who the shirt was for) likes tribals, So I wanted to implement that.

First try:

I thought it was pretty neat and clean, and after I negated it, it was even better..

Next morning, I tried to improve, and started over.
I horribly failed.

Second Try:

The tribal you see in the background is actually the tattoo the dude has on it's back..
It seemed like a nice personal touch to me..

Anyway, it looked like shit, so the whole process started over again..

Third try:

With this one, I was actually happy..
It's really simple, yet the fading looks cool..

And I decided to throw in some blue..
The chinese character for 'infinity' is also part of the original tattoo, but I didn't photoshop it in the previous versions.

Spoiler: Butterflies 'art' (18-06-'08)

I just did an experiment and opened photoshop without any clue.
I started making something, and because I usually edit stuff and this time I started out with nothing, I started drawing.

This rolled out:

The bright orange highlights don't work, someone told me that already..
The blue eye and dark skin is also a mismatch.

I had this cool idea of drawing a skull in black/white.
So.. it turned out less cool than I expected, but ok overall..
It wasn't such a serious drawing.

This thing started out with just a single stroke on my tablet..
I do that from time to time.. and sometimes something cool rolls out.

It's nowhere near finished, but I think it's getting somewhere..
That thing is intended to be some sort of mask, by the way.

I guess I didn't do it light enough..

Looks like shadow to me not a goatee. That sword design is nice.

I like your first and second drawings; the second drawing is the best out of the three in my opinion. The third drawing however, does not look like it was given the same attention as the first two.

The chin? shading does look awkward in the first picture. A more slightly horizontal shade might help.

I was merely messing around with a fat-line pencil (dunno if that's B or BB or HHH or w/e)

Looks like shadow to me not a goatee. That sword design is nice.

Cool thing that your images are so damn big that they appear all cutted off the spoiler box when it´s opened. I can´t see enough of them to even comment anything :/

Please reduce them to a reasonable size man! Even to reduce the time we must wait till the browser downloads them!
(Or, instead of putting them inside spoiler boxes, put a direct link to them)

Your faces are just that, floating faces. Before I can even critique every single aspect, all I have to say right now is work from life.
Practice drawing faces from magazines, books, sitting in the park... etc.

You gotta learn how to construct a face before simplifying them.

It's just that.. I'm not really good at drawing the whole faces, only parts of them work out like I want them to be. (like the eyes..) Therefore, I generally try to evade drawing every aspect of a face. But then I'm blocking my progress..

Anyway, I shall follow your advice and try drawing faces in different situations and contexts..
