Art by an amateur

I think it looks really good, the only noticeable thing is the gradient on the shoes, it doesn't look right.  I think the shadows may be placed in the wrong areas.

Wow.  Very nice.  you should just emphasize the shadows in her back on the left more.  Mainly just the one where it shows a bend in her lower back, so as to show off more of her physique and get more Kudos on how hot she is.  It's just a thought, honestly it wouldn't matter if you change it or not, but different poses of this girl would end up on many walls.

I did think about not doing any shadows so I can get away from it because I suck at it, but it could turn out quite boring. In fact I don't have much experience on making backgrounds and such even I'm trying to improve...
In any case, thanks guys, much appreciated. Maybe I should start drawing characters with more clothes on XD

Anime rocks, nice work!  Your not off to a bad start.  Shadows seems to be the key issue with it is all such as her shoes and the small of her back as mentioned above.  Looking at it though it would appear that she has at least 3 different light sources on her and it doesn't apply to all of her anatomy, and I'm not sure I like how her chin comes to point like that.  But this is the perspective of someone who isn't an artist so take it as you will. ;p

Um while I'm still doing a new CG I found this sketch I did weeks ago. It was just a random scene attacted me on my way back home the other day, 2 lower school kids walked past me and the girl was telling a boy off for something I forgot. But the boy didn't seem to give a damn, I found that scene quite funny so I put the idea on this sketch. Indeed I changed the characters a lot as I just tried to express the idea. Again please leave any comments so I can at least improve something from basic skills, thank you.
P.S. Hope the scanner didn't screw the quality

It looks more like that common “oh my god listen to meâ€

Right-o.

For someone who watches so much anime, it's odd that I hate it so much. Well no. I hate the fans. The reason I hate the fans (beside being generally obsessive, overbearing and annoying) is that they churn out the same pictures drawn either by a different hand or involving different characters constantly and never, ever stop. Also, lots of them dig for compliments constantly. "[I'm] an amateur", "P.S. Hope you won't vomit after seeing this XD" really annoys me and I'm sure a load of people agree. It's part of the reason I'm being so harsh. Stop digging for compliments or you'll never improve. Pitiful and blind praise does nothing for you.

First Image
Generic female anime character fanservice pose.

Those legs are impossibly fat. Hair partitions never lays flat enough to disapear into nothing. Highlights in hair always retain at least some remnant of the base  colour, excepting very light blonde or grey. The sock highlights are far too intense, and make it look like latex. You seem to have changed your mind about highlights and done the shoes differently, drawing attention to the feet (which is generally bad for this pose). The skirt is longer at the back than at the front?

Second Image
Take two anime characters. Any anime characters. Draw them in this situation. Instant masterpiece? No. Everybody has seen it at least once, and none of them are in a rush to see it again.

Q already covered what's up with it, so I won't bother (I didn't read the rest of the thread btw, so if I repeated anything don't point it out because I don't care).

You're not great, but you're by no means bad. Right now I would label you "mediocre" as far as stock anime situation reproduction fares. If you're really an amateur, it's a good start. Keep working and start drawing more original things (though originality is pretty limited as far as anime goes, everything's been done to death already). The fact that these characters aren't just omg mai fave!!!! is a good sign, too. And stop digging for compliments.

Thanks a lot for that. I admit that I'm not creative enough to use other styles, which limits the layouts of different aspects of characters. Pathetic enough to say that I didn't know that kind of style is over-used on DeviantArt, hope I didn't offend you for letting you look at the same kind of stuff.
To be honest, I didn't put the 'amateur' on the title just for getting compliments but I truly want to ask for comments about how to improve, because I think I am an amateur. I also admit that I shouldn't have put that 'P.S. Hope you won't vomit...' and overdid the situation, my bad. As I realized that I have limited skills so I would like to see what people think in a different environment other than asking people in real life. However but no offence, I would like to say that I don't take any characters from somewhere else and put them in particular situations, nor do I intend to do this and take any rip-off images.
Indeed I'll try to improve those abnormal parts, even I don't usually have much time to do so but I'll do my best. Thank you.

Even if it's not intentional, you should be careful. You might have misunderstood me, but I commended your use of your own characters/friends instead of fanfapping.

I'd really suggest venturing out of anime and into other styles. Anime's a nice hobby but (assumptions coming!) it's unrealistic to believe that you'll ever be a famous author or work for such a company. Try a wide range of things and who knows, youmight find something you're really good at. If you already are, disregard that, and good for you.
