Good day everybody!
I've come here today because I am getting ready to start a commercial project, but I'm not actually going to start any major development on it until after the holidays. However, being as it is a commercial project we're talking about, and not just a personal hobby project (well, yes it is a hobby, but still...) the graphics and audio for the game are going to have to be as origional as I can get. I am going to need a wide range of different resource types, so anybody is free to post here so long as they provide information as to what their talents are, some samples of their work and (this last part is optional) what projects they've worked on in the past and some examples of the work they did on the team. Yes, for the most part, this is going to be a paid gig, but don't expect to get rich off of it, I will be paying people based off the quality of their work, and any extra effort that had to be put into it in order to make it exceptional!
What I am looking for is what kind of talent is going to apply to this topic, and what the applicants specialize in. For instance, if you're applying to do charactersets, I will need to know "Well, do you do RTP-styled characters, or do you do Kaizer styled sprites, or whats your specialty?" It doesn't matter what you're good at, so long as you're good at something, if there is enough applicants that share common talents, that is going to decide what style I take the project on with. (After all, I can't have one guy making RTP-sized tilesets and another making Full-Kaizer sprites). So yes, nothing is set in stone as of what I'll be needing, it's going to be based of YOU can do!
On a last note, although my personal specialty is scripting (RGSS) I have some work of my own that I will also be needing help with. I have about 100 hand drawn battlers I've made over the years, which will be needing color, so I will also be looking for color artists. Unless I decide to not use my battlers, this will probably be the field I will be willing to pay the most for because it might be the most time consuming job of them all. What I will be needing in that dept is somebody who can properly resize, outline and apply color to my battler artwork, which is origionally scanned from 8.5" x 11" paper. This is something I started on breifly a year ago, but never had the patience to finish. I don't care if the color is done pixel-shaded style, or if its hand painted or whatnot, so long as it looks good on screen.
Also, if you specialize in the fields of Audio, I will be seeking audio-related talent too, anything from origional music to origional sound effects is welcome. I do plan on having an 100% origional soundtrack, made exclusively for the game in question, so feel free to apply too if you'd like.
Lastly, YES I ACCEPT DONATIONS AND VOLUNTEER WORK!!! No, not money donations (well, I'll accept those too), but resource donations. Anything made for this game must be 100% origionals made by you, and must not be something I'm going to be finding in alot of other games or other forums. Since I want to pay my hardest workers for what they've done, anybody willing to donate simple things (origional icons, sound effects, anything big or small) will be appreciated not only by me, but also other people who are working hard to help me. I'm not rich and my budget will be tight, but I want to be as generous as I can to the people I'm offering payment to for extremely hard work.
