Another Lost Cause?

He looks really awkward- the anatomy and proportions are all totally off.

I feel bad saying this, but I don't know if you're ready to tackle a project of this magnitude yet. But keep practicing- there's potential.
 
Um... I know I'm not ready for it. I said I was using the graphics to finish off a script I started. And also, have you seen Mario? Yes, the head may be big and the arm too long, but have you seen Mario?

EDIT::: Alright, now I see some other mistakes I did... dernit. The legs in the running and struck pose too.

But yeah, the arms and legs in the two attacking poses were purposely exaggerated.
 
The arms and legs can be exaggerated without looking as awkward as they do here- I'm intimately familiar with the game you're trying to recreate here.

the trouble isn't that they are exaggerated. Its that they don't flow well, and the for how big and showy the animation in the arms and legs is, there is no follow through with the rest of the body as there should be. Ie, when you make a big swinging punch with your fist like that, your shoulders will turn, and therefore so will your back and spine, probably a little twist in the waist too. Similarly with the kick, to bring your leg that high, most males would have to turn to the side a little. Its a vallient effort, but you need more knoledge about human movement and mechanics.
