Exactly...You get the style that I portray!

Get over your prince of darkness phase and show some versatility. Unless you're proud of producing work that is, as afore mentioned, Bland and flat.

I see you've met 80% of the deviantArt fanbase. I'm just surprised he didn't mention keyblades in his review.

deviantArt comments should never be taken as legitimate criticism. At least, it shouldn't negate criticism from other sources. The vast majority of the deviantArt memberbase is either 14 or apathetic; that is, people will tell you everything is good just because they don't care or they don't know what art is.

The linework in this piece is very solid. The monochrome gives it sort of a marble-statue feel, but I can't help but think that that style of linework would be better suited to a more vibrant colour scheme. It seems vaguely like a comic-book style in the vein of Deadpool and that sort of thing, and so colour would definitely be an asset in holding the eye a little longer.

Correct.... i agree... most of the people on deviantart will say like and *fav* just because when what you need to get better in your artistic style is a little bit of critisizm...

The line work, shading, dynamics of posing, is far superior to what i've been seeing in the forums. I like it... just as pointed out the colors... the colors... need to change...

Your style... actually would do alot better with a more vibrant color scheme... while you might prefer "darkness", a desaturated style such as your will easily become one of the more overlooked (and underrated) art pieces on DeviantArt... if i were you.. i'd consider looking into a brighter style stat... not to critisize your style cause you're a awesome artist... but... you should definitely invest in a far more saturated style than the one you've been using....

but i'd like to see how this piece comes out... who knows, try it with more saturated colors... you might like it... Mr. into-the-darkness...

Hmmm.......

Would it be appropriate to ask for an example? Try to color any of my characters on my Dev page...

Then I might consider to "Lighten" up my act

You don't need us to color your work, because you can see other people's work. Just add more variations and hues.
I'll color it, however, but get rid of the blue-grey shadows. Grey =/= realistic shadows. But rather contributes to your flat characters.

Is there any reason you couldn't?

To compare and contrast.

It will be interesting to see...

i just adjusted some levels and contrast... lucky i like your art... LUCKY... or else i would've just sat back and did nothing... but i hope this provides a little bit of difference... all you have to do is saturate your colors a little...  Colors give characters life...

Emmm...

Kinda see what your going for, I guess I'm seeing "them" in a different way (like when I see them in a background *in my head*).

By the way I'm working on background sets, just need some good mountain inspiration...

Thank you guys though!
