Animated Cutscenes?

Is it possible in RPGMaker XP to insert custom animated cutscenes? I'm not the programmer, I'm just artist/storyline development, but I need to know in case there's information that could be better conveyed in a cutscene. So, can we do that, or would we be stuck with the sprites and dialogue box cutscene? Second, just to clarify, it is possible to do voice acting in RMXP, correct?

There exists a flash animation script, and also an avi script, that may help you, though I do not know how well they work. Try searching the script forums for "flash" or "avi". They also may not exist any more as it's been a while. I believe both just open a new, hidden window above the game screen however.

Oh god, Yoda is real !

Yeah, you could just find the .avi or flash script which lets you run a .avi or flash movie infront of your game so it's KINDA like a cutscene.

And yeah, you can use voice acting, just record yourself, save it and import it as a SE, and play it when you talk to someone, although it's gonna bombard your games filesize.

Also, you can create animations of various kinds in the program itself, move sprites around on the screen, show and move pictures, etc, without needing to use a script.
Yes, but what I wanted to do was full-scle anime-style animation. Now, when the window opens up in front of the game, is the player still in control of the game, or will it pause until the scene is over?

I don't have much knowledge with things, but if you are able to get the script running with an Auto-Run (someone stop me before I talk about something I know nothing of) the player will be unable to move until you want them to.

At least that is how it works with Events.
