Animated Battler Template

I think I've finally found a style... And I've shaded it in the gRTP format which is pretty much easier to do... The shading can be improved but I think my animating is getting better and better?

The Running and Punching Animations aren't really smooth, but I think I did a good job... Yes I know, No one's arms are that long... But... I like it the way it is....

Yea as stated above you've got to work a bit on that arm. Something does not seem human about it. Also in the idle and the punching animation the figure seems stocky and more built than the figure which is running.
 
darnit... I thought I did good this time... sigh.... Another failed project.... Kicks gave me a new method of spriting that I'm really anxious to use with the next animated battler template I come up with... or to make this one better... I agree about the running looking a bit gay... Actually if you spin him he's actaully a bit taller....

What kind of shading is going on here? :\ The idle and punching frames looks like he's a gorilla or something. Like it almost looks like it's fur. The runing one is shaded better and more smoothly but what's going on with the random lines? You really should study a human reference better.

Not only is the shading out of wack but the propotions are strange. Even if you wanted to obscure them that way it changes in the running animation. The legs seem longer there. I'd make the legs longer in the other ones as well. Right now it's just looking really funky and more of a monster rather than a human. :\
 
That was scratched... I found a better way of spriting... Now I actually draw the figure before I sprite... I found this way much easier and way more fun... But this one won't be finished( Or at least will be on hold)... I've desided to continue working on statics...
 
You should focus on one thing at a time instead of doing 4 things at once. Anything worth doing takes time and effort. And a lot of focus.
 
Like i said this will probably be dropped... I'm pretty much focusing on one at the moment: The Statics... Thje Modern Tileset is done. I'm just too lazy to upload it.... for no apparent reason at the moment... These won't be finished... probably ever... like all my other animated projects...
 
Your battler reminded me of an elastic creature: something like gummy man or rubber dude. It's actually a pretty neat effect. If you put a superhero costume on him and maybe changed the skin tone, it could be something pretty cool and interesting to use.

Don't give up. It takes *a lot* of practice before you get great at spriting :)
