Poor people are poor because they deserve to be poor? Funny how rich people always seem to think they deserve to be rich. What exactly is it that makes someone successful in life - fiscally, that is. Well, shrewd bussiness practice for one, but I fail to see how being a ruthless entrepreneur means you deserve to live easier. Talent also comes into it, but then if people do not have talent, does it mean they should be worse off? And very often people with tremendous talent are never sucessful. What about the quality of your education? The circumstances of your upbringing? Not really factors over which he have great control. Academic people would like to believe that they are able to apply themselves to studies because they are better in some way - cleverer, more devoted. But really, can anyone seriously say that that is true?
Here's an interesting fact. Most rich people like to believe that they are rich because they deserve it, because they are good with money. A study set out to investigate this, and what they actually found was that the more capital a person begins with, the more risks they take. Further more, these risks tended to be 'riskier', and also to fail more frequentaly than those which people with less capital took. However, despite this, if enough money was availlable to begin with to simply endure these failures, their risks would eventually pay off. The simple fact is that money makes money. The ironic thing is that the investigators had begun desperately trying to prove the opposite
