How did this come to be: So, I think maybe 6 or 7 years ago, around the age of 15-16, I discovered Final Fantasy 7. I think it was earlier than that, but it was at this time that I got my hands on an awesome engine called RPG Maker 2000 and started to create a whole rpg featuring my favorite characters from the FF universe, which were mainly composed of characters from FF 7, 8, and 10 of the series. I managed to create a game that could be played in six hours, but mostly played it myself. I didn't know any free uploading sites back then, so I could only distribute it to close friends through a Zip Drive. I had meant to go back and refine it years later, but unfortunately, the harddrive that held my hard work and other things was stolen with the rest of my stuff during a moving some years back. So I pretty much shrugged off such ancient work and went to other things.
Though I lost my work, I never forgot WHAT the game was about. It was my first real project aside from my little top down adventure action game I made using Game Maker, thus I felt a sort of bond to it. I've matured in that aspect, so there's really no meaning for me to make a fan based game when I can put my attention toward something original. At this time, I'm doing just that. But, I've been thinking about if I should finally go back and remake my first true game. Sure, it'll be a fangame, but it'll get rid of this urge inside me to put to peace what I once came from. Thus, I sort of sat down one day and pretty much cooked up a 15 minute demo of what the first part of the game would be like, which is much better than what I made back when. After that, I'm now mainly sitting here and still thinking if I should actually put forth effort to continuing the development of this game or not. If I do, I'll probably refine it to the point that it'll be a bit more professional, while trying to keep to the fanness of the FF verse. MAYBE. As for the title "First Fantasy", it was suppose to be a twist on the series' title itself, obviously. I may end up changing it or just leave it like that to add to the already-settled-cliches.
IT'S story:
Alright, so the premise of the game is simple, really. You're Squall Leonhart, working in a fictional world called Juno where he works for this big government as an elite soldier (I know, but bare with the cliches. I was young back then). This government, Terminu, is enemies to the Jetmites, an organization who are deemed terrorists to them and are constantly trying to ruining Terminu's foundation. Meanwhile, Squall is going through everyday life, while gaining a questioning of whether he is doing anything at all with his life. In the meanwhile, his job has him traveling around the world where both the FF 10 and the FF 7 verses exist as their own countries, twisted around somewhat to fit the world I created, but pretty much holding their bare frameworks (i.e. Shinra and Migdar, to Spira and Bevelle). Eventually, he ends up getting caught in a series of conflicts which will result in the inevitable task for Squall and the allies (which will be composed of heroes from their respective universes and some original characters) he make along the way to resolve them while dealing with his own little internal struggle of what it means to be someone.
In short, a visual fanfiction.

So at the moment, I'm mainly just throwing out here what could have been and what may be. If I get enough support, I may continue developing it. Depends if it's worth it or not, since my only goal at the moment is to get a FINISHED RPG Maker game done. Everything in the demo is just some prototype of what I want to do. Think of it as an artist sketching before they start doing the real work or a writer making a draft before they go to revisions. So both the graphics, music, etc, etc is not finalized since it was all made within a day. However, that doesn't mean I'm immune to feedback, so throw that my way of you have the urge to. I accept all criticism and even sketching needs to be analyzed.
And yes, this game is made by RPG Maker 2K, because there are a lot more resources out there for it, I know it more than I know RPG Maker XP/VX, and it's simple enough for what I'm trying to do. Whether I'll turn to the 2K3 for an ATB system and a bit more expansion on what I can do, that's up for planning.
