I've been a fan of Harry Turtledove for several years, and I've read pretty much every alternate history book he's written. What I'm looking for is another author who has similar character depth and attention to detail, and who draws solidly logical "what if" conclusions. One big plus is if tere's someone really prolific, as, with my reading speed, it's difficult to find a truly satisfying author. (It took me about three hours to read Harry Potter VII, and four to read The Dark Tower VII.)
