AlphaZ Template

Ummm... I have that, too.... Maybe I should show you what I have done with the flesh colors done.

PS, are the arms still bad?

I had him at one point lifting his leg and then changed him in about a minute. I didn't realize anybody saw that. Sorry.

The arms still have the issues I mentioned in my above post, yeah. Their form is much better, but movement is still a problem, you know?

Ah, it seems you're two steps ahead of me. In that case, I look forward to a filled-in version! ^^

I'm not sure if the legs should be less centered when he's taking steps, though. I'll wait and see, and maybe make a GIF once the arms are finished to get some idea of what it's like in action.

And trust me, it's just a relief to know I'm not going insane. :thumb:

Oh, I see. How could I fix that, then? If I change where to torso outline is, it makes the sprite look too thin or too fat.

On a completeley different note...
Yay, my thread turned yellow :D

I would just like to say...

Simple is best. No need to add abs and pecs on a sprite this size. Heck, the HK had less shading than this. I think it would be best to worry about completing the overall shape first, and then adding the small details.

EDIT: I would say that the HK and the Breeze templates are by far the most used templates on this site. Go look at how much detail they have. Basically none.

I hope this post isn't interpreted as flaming.

His walk looks dumb, what he swings his legs wide to the sides in the middle of his step? no good

heh, put some ski's on him and it'll look like he's goin cross country

This. I was kind of going "ew" at the amount of shading, but I wasn't able to think of a coherent way to say it. The shading around the eyes especially -- eyebrows and stuff can just be added in at the discretion of the spriter.

Keep Going, Im loving this. Appreciate it very much.

I just hope you make it and people sprite on it, and it doesnt go for months with only a couple characters made.

maybe ill practice my spriting abilities when this comes out.

Oh, is there a template to those battlers? They look awesome.

Now you have it! That new template looks sweet.

One problem is the arms.

The arm movements don't look so borked now that I can see where his arms are going thanks to the shading. He still seems to be awfully expressive with his shoulder movements, though... Make him a little more bow-legged and you have a gangsta walk.

No, I tried the thing with no shoulder movements and the guy looked like he wasn't moving his arms at all. So, I decided to move the back shoulder up one pixel. It looks like a lot, but in motion, it looks pretty good.
