It's a nice example of virtual-reality marketing, even giving some preface on the game world (beyond that somewhat inane history dealie.) Try typing THECAKEISALIE after you log in (password is PORTALS,) for instance; for anyone who was wondering about the state of the Aperture Science company before  Chell enters the spotlight (and possibly during the events of the game itself,) it gives some good flavour. I forget how to reach that particular history page, however.

You need to enter a special password and username to get to that page. it's hidden in a rat's nest (or whatever).
