Very nice. I played till the first mini-boss battle in the forest. That three-headed dog kept healing all of the HP I managed to cut off of it. Overall, I like your ideas so far. From what I've played, it's a nice basis, though a bit buggy here and there.
Also, I would suggest you to remove the barrels and treasure chests in the random people's houses. It's a small detail, but it isn't very normal for a castle servant to just enter a random house and start pillaging it, taking away all coins in the process, is it? Though I liked the way that you could only get to the princess's treasure box when she was away.
An idea might be to actually utilize the swords which are hanging in the castle prison. After all, why should you be walking around with a broomstick or a rusty dagger when there's a perfectly fine sword hanging on the wall?
Also, a few of the more annoying bugs:
- When I tried to enter the weapon shop, the game crashed with an error that a lancer-sprite couldn't be found.
- When you try to talk to the merchant, after you saved him from the bird, the shop-window isn't triggered
Hmm. That's strange. I'm using two standard characters, lancer 3 and lancer 4, in the weapons shop. Did you delete any of the presets?
**EDIT**
I fixed the merchant shop processing bug. It'll take a little while to upload, though.
Just curious. Has anyone played to the end of the demo? You'll know you reached the end when the credits appear. Also, I've been finding it really difficult to get back into this project. I guess I would like to know if anyone is interested in playing Chapter 2 - which I haven't even begun. If not, I think I'll begin a new project.
No !!! Are you crazy the scrpits, maps, sprites is all amazing I would love to have you help me with mapping because your pretty good and the game is very nice.I really would like you to stay with this game because its very interesting and to see it get developed will be amazing.
I've gotten decently far into this game. I must say it is one of the best RMXP games i've played to date! I wish PotM was back cause I'd say this was deserving of it.
BTW I love the subtle humor in the game too!
update: I just beat it, woot!
Too bad you've lost interest in the project it had potential. I was even level grinding because it was fun!

Yeah, I got to the end, though I'll be honest and say I don't remember what happened.
I killed the three wolves, and after that they were going to go as far away from the castle as possible because the princess did not want to marry the prince, right?
I say continue with the project. It'll be great to see how it turns out. But it's your decision if you wanna continue or not. I personally would like to see how it ends.
Thanks for the kind comments. Silencher was nice enough to give me a bug report and I'm going to look into those things. I'll see what happens from there. Who knows? Maybe fixing the bugs will awaken my interest again.
Starwinderbeta: You're right about the ending.
Question: What do you think about the flashback at the end of the demo? Do you think it's misplaced?
To tell you the truth I though it was signaling the end of the demo, well I mean I thought the momma was telling a little a story bout how a girl ended up being the princess puppy. So it was a very good and shocking moment for me when the girl's name was revealed.Very good.
I just tried this game and I couldn't stop. This game did well to keep my attion, that really dosen't happen that often to me with RPG Maker games. It felt really diffrent from anything else. I loved all the icons, and the barrel/pot breaking was a great new way to do an old thing - really neat twist. I did find a bug, if you still want to fix this up. -=Just before you go into the sewers, it'll say "Are you sure? There's no turning back. (Yes/No)" If you say No and go back you freeze=-
Some questions:
Where is the Dog food?
Where can I use the tea?
I never gave the slippers to the princess, what happens if I do?
Weather you make part 2 or start something new, I look foward to playing your unique style.
@Brandonn - I'll look into the sewer thing. Never even knew there was a bug there.
You have to give the slippers to the princess to get the dog food.
You have to give the tea to the guards blocking your path to the king's chamber.
How did you get to the sewer's without using the tea to get the key from the king's chamber?
Right now, this project is on hold indefinitely. To be honest, I had no idea of a plot line for this game. I just made it up as I went along. I think maybe that's why I threw in the whole crystal thing. Oh, well.
I should have guessed about the Dog Food.
When I got the tea, it let me let out the pirate, then the guards attacked, so I killed them all, then I fliped the switch and opened all the cells, except the one in the center with the guy that didn't want to escape.
