**EDIT** This project is on hold indefinitely. I've just uploaded a newer version that hopefully allows you to play through to the end. Some people have been getting stuck after talking to the princess in the cave. As for future updates: I will not be updating any new versions unless there is a glaring problem. I am aware that you get the cell key earlier than you're supposed to. I checked the events with the pirate but I couldn't find the bug. I'm not going to comb through the entire game for this one bug, but if you have an idea of when you're getting the key, please let me know. Thanks.

Characters

A young girl with a negative outlook on life.
Often met with cruelty or indifference, Rina
somehow manages to find the strength to
do what is right.

Spoiled and cherished. Quite the opposite of Rina.
Brianna seldom has empathy for others and can
be very demanding.

Often seen as the mature one, Veronica
keeps a level head as she attempts to
keep Rina and Brianna from killing each other.
Chapter 1
Accused of thievery, Rina must serve the spoiled

From what I can tell from the screenshots, your mapping is pretty damn good, however,Throwing "star" in front of crystal doesn't save it from the crystal game cliche`.

I'm about to give the demo a try, so I'll give you some better feed back after I do.

-Edit after playing demo-

What I played was pretty good. The dialogue was good, and the mapping was above average on most maps.

You had your biggest issue with the intro being too quick and jumpy. It went from being brought to the king, to looking at your past, to gameplay in a matter of like 2 mins with a good amount of text which led to another issue.

Most of the text during cutscenes was a bit fast. I could read them before the next text box most of the time, but sometimes I couldn't quite make it.

Although most of your mapping was quite good, there was a few areas that could improve.

This map could use alittle more pizaz, and the green area reveals that the door doesn't quit fit right.

Also, I don't know if it was the end of the demo, or an error, but I couldn't get past this point-

after that text it would just sit there. Well, at any rate your doing a good job, and with a bit more polish this would become something to be excited about. :)

I'm not sure how to fix the door thing, but I'll look into the part where you got stuck. The demo should go to the end of the chapter.

I'm actually surprised that the text box is on that side of the screen. I had it set up so that the scene didn't start unless first: Lord Vexus had arrived and second: the character was standing on the west side of the hall and was facing right. Where was the character standing when the scene started?

Well I came up through the bottom and then the event took place, but then I noticed that after a few people walked out I was still at the bottom, but facing right. Maybe a bad switch or something in the event.

I fixed the bug. I'm also thinking of moving the flashback to either the end of the chapter or the beginning of the next chapter.

This looks amazing. Just a question since I'm not that grat with rmxp, how do you change the font?

EDIT: I just noticed I'm using the same windowskin in my game. :)

In the game? I added this as the very first thing under Game_Temp.
Font.default_name = "Invitation"
I'm sure there might be a better way to do it but it worked for me. You just write the name of the font that you want in the parenthesis.

Looks good. Your mapping looks okay. I'll give it a download and then my thoughts.

Edit: Well. This game has the makings of a real good game. Your attention to details is a big plus. Such as the arrows by the exits, opening doors, all good stuff. Now the bad.

Your mapping is pretty decent, but there are a few notable glitches. One of the biggest I've found so far is the area in the kitchen. You have what I thought would be a closet in the middle, but when I entered the place it was a huge area. -Makes no sense-. Storywise the game sounds okay. But after 2 years of captivity why do the people still talk to you as if your new? 2 years is a long time. I'd also figure that with the ability to come and go as you please why haven't you tried to escape? And why would you want to know of a secret passage when you can just leave? All in all so far it is way above average and I would have kept playnig it. Looking forward to playing more. And if you are ever in need of any testers just let me know.

This is my first game and my skills are improving over time. When I began, I really had no idea where the story was going. For instance, at first, the lead had only been captive for 3 months and then, I changed it to two years. Also, though the character can roam around the town, she can't leave the town via the gates. I haven't really thought about why she wouldn't want to leave before now. It is something to think about. I'll also look into the kitchen thing. Maybe the servants' stairs can be off to the side.
I view this game as something that will evolve over time. I'll probably start working on chapter two and will then go back to chapter 1 to revise when my RMXP skills have gotten better.

Well, for your first game this is really damn good. Your planning to do the same as me and my project. As I do each new chapter I go back and fix the mistakes of the old one. It is a good idea I think because everyones abilities increase with practice. But with my Under project, if you look at the screenshots of the original chapter 1 they look totally different now. And yes, that is my first project as well. So here's to us rpgmakerXP new guys.

alrighty. so.

this did look really good and i was excited to see the demo, but when i did download the demo, the text didnt work.
it was completely blank whenever someone said something.
heh

You have to install the Invitation font into your fonts folder on your computer. You can open up your control panel and then open your fonts folder. Then you can copy/paste or drag/drop the font into it.

Wow for a first game this is great only a few little bugs here and there but I didn't mind them. Nice story line and the characters have been well done they play well to their set personalities.

Very well done

Oops. Sorry about that. Prior to that demo, I hadn't figured out how to change the message speed during different parts of the game. And before that, many people complained that the text was too fast. Now, I have it set up so that it is slower during cutscenes and the player cannot skip the message. However, during regular gameplay, the normal dialogue speed is faster and you can skip the message by pressing spacebar which will display the entire text at once. I just never got around to uploading the newer version. It's uploading now.

**EDIT**
New version with faster text has been uploaded.
