AGM = weak XNA?

God dammit EB! All I ask for is an RPG-maker with XP's mapping layers and the ability to play in large widescreen resolutions. Seemed like the way forward to me...

So i've taken a look at AGM and it seems that it's just a really weak version of Microsoft's own XNA Game Studio. Is that right? As far as I can tell, it's XNA for idiots, and does not provide the potential to create amazing games unless you can use C#... in which case you'd be using XNA. I was really hoping their next engine would evolve the RPGmaker franchise, but I guess that's still going to be at least a couple of years away now.

Can AGM be run in large screen resolutions? Because that's the only reason I would even consider using it.

You didn't get the point of AGM^^
It's not a weak XNA, it's a data editor/generator, to be used on XNA, xna game studio doesn't provide any kind of editor to create your levels and such...

The other things is, AGM uses a plugin system, plugin that you create with XNA(and C#) to improve agm, like adding NON-zelda-like RPG features and such.

Ok great! These are some good things to hear. But what about the screen resolution? Is it possible to play in, for example, a 1280x1024 sized resolution? If it can link with XNA, then presumably it would support larger resolutions, as well as widescreen options.
