Aero Guard WIP

Hi, I want some feedback on my "Aero Guard" and would want to get advice as how to
do the wings. They stand out a bit too much now I think, but I can't figure out how to
start shading them. Thanks for all help.

It's just how I designed it on paper, and I tried to recreate it as closely as possible because I thought it ended up pretty cool :) Thanks for the comment

to me it seems like it would look a bit better if the legs were a tad longer and a bit more on the animal hid legs side. have the thick upper leg/thigh area that you have now, but extend the feet and give it a more, up on the ball of its feet kind of walking method

I agree gulch

i also think that maybe you should make the dark gray in denoting the change from leg to kneepad could be a little darker to keep consistent with the rest of it.

other than that it's pretty darn neat!

I honestly think the figure looks fine the way it is, maybe try changing it a little bit, but its not bad the way it is right now. Have you tried shading the wings the same as you have with the other gray/silver parts of his body? I think if you did that, avoided pillowshading, and gave it a nice shadow where the wings connect, it would look fine

Thanks, the wings have been my most problematic area, when it comes to shading. Hopefully your tips will help me get them right. And maybe it'll help in shading the Aero Tank that I am also working on:

I'm not too good with large areas of colour, so any help would be useful! Thanks!

I have to say, Waiise, I'm really liking these! For large areas of color, maybe add some detail to it like make stains/rust on the metal, that'll give you some more pixels. The Aero Tank looks amazing!

I think you just need to soften the joins a little. Maybe make the lines a little lighter? Or you could dither the shadows out from the joins, does that make sense? You could try a couple of highlights too, depending on how shiny the metal is. Even if it's not too shiny, some subtle highlights would tie the wings in with the rest of the body, which has some great highlights on it.

I really like this. You've got a great amount of detail onto such a spindly figure. I also like the aero tank. Adding rust/stains like MCsephiroth13 suggested sounds like a good idea. It'll help break up the big areas.

wow man really amazing, i'm still learning too but this is a sick design! I look forward to seeing some more stuff from you, are you working on a project at the moment?
