Advance Wars: Days of Ruin

What are your thoughts on it so far? As for me I think it looks like it's going to be a great game...the screenshots look colorless and boring though. I have dial-up so I can't view the videos at the moment, anyways what do you think? And whoever saw the videos what is the game like, do we still get powers and stuff? Oh, and what about Tag, is that still in there? (I am probably going to buy this game, but I am still keeping Dual Strike, lol)

I'm pretty pumped about a new Advance Wars game. I've always been a fan of the series, and I think it's nice that the game is taking a change of pace- art & story & mood. From the surpirsingly little of what I've heard about it, at least. From what I've seen, you still have CO's, assumably with different skills, but none of the videos/screens so far have shown a CO Power. I hope they keep them around.

As far as plot goes, it seems like this game takes place after some meteor strike that devestated Earth, and what's left is some kind of Mad Max inspired fight for reasources... at least the gist I've gotten. Personally, I was getting sick of the re-used plotline and characters. I'm just glad I won't have to listen to Andy try and figure out what an airport is again... at least let's hope not...

I think IGN said that it will have wifi play too. I'm already sold!

The only thing I really hate about this...is the fact that all the past characters are being trashed. I'm going to miss Koal, Sonja, and Grit...ok no I'm not...I'll have Dual Strike still, lol.

Boring? They have far greater detail than any other advance wars game. As far as being colorless, it's a post-apocalyptic game. I don't expect brightly colored trees and stuff in my dark games.

I'm happy they're finally mixing up the series as it's stayed pretty much the same RED vs. GREEN since the Famicom days. The new setting is awesome, the focus on faster gameplay is awesome, dropping all the ridiculous powers in favor of pure tactics and skill is awesome, and an actual storyline (so I don't feel like I'm just playing skirmishes with CINEMAS IN THEM) is awesome.

Everything about this sounds awesome. sign me up.

EDIT: Also, this game has map sharing servers. Map. Sharing. Servers. Gone are the days of sending people pictures of your map or whatever over the internet and having someone else copy it... or whatever stupid method people had for sharing maps in the previous games.

Ok, maybe boring was the wrong word...lol. Well anyways I saw the videos on IGN and...I dunno, I rather see more. Until then I rather keep Dual Strike.
