Add Damage to a variable?

I want to make it so that when a character does damage with an attack (be is a skill or normal attack), the damage he does gets ADDED to a variable (one corresponding for each characters) and I was wondering how I would go about doing this?


I also was wondering (but this isnt as important) if there was a way to do the same sort of thing except for an Exp amount based on the amount healed using a HEALING SPELL, with no exp for using an item however.




EDIT: Nevermind. I scrapped the idea for something easier but simple.
