I just recently bought a new PC, and today I got round to reinstalling RMXP again. However, when I tried to activate it using my activation key, it said it was invalid.
Then I realised - the whole purpose of an activation code is to lock the software to a limited number of machines. So I thought surely entering my serial and getting a new activation key would do the trick. Nope, all I get is "This software has already been activated" or something along those lines. Apparently the license is only good for one set of hardware (or so it would seem).
My old PC box is sitting on the floor doing nothing, and I don't intend ever using it again - it seems unfair that my copy of RMXP is now locked exclusively that 6 year old piece of junk. Any suggestions?
I really don't want to, but if it comes to that and I'm forced to, I'll use a crack/keygen - I think this is one of those situations where legality comes second if it has to, I don't think anyone could argue that it's not justified if there is no alternative.
