Its based off a book apparently. Anybody read it? Based on the trailer it looks like its going to be mostly gratuitous violence. But it wouldn't be the first time a trailer misrepresented a movie. It just sounds so cheesy to me, like a cartoon that tries to make history interesting.

It's based on some alternative history/novels that remake them with some modern day pop reference and takes it seriously. (for example, pride and prejudice and zombies). Its whole humor essence is that it takes itself totally seriously. Whether it will work or be particularly good is dependent on how well the actors/directors/etc. actually work that work.

I've actually really been looking forward to this! I keep meaning to read the books and have never gotten around to it.
