A Kings Birth (Project)

Okay this is my first RPG Maker game so don't be to hard on me.

I am looking for testers as well, so PM me if you want to be those guys:D

Character
Name: Dion Triark
Age: 24 years
Calss: Knight
Bio: Dion Triark was blessed from chilhood, he was intelligent and cunning, at the age of 10 he enrolled in the Martius Royal War Acadamy, he quickly advanced in classes.
At the age of 17 he was done at the Acadamy and joined the army, every fight he joined he won, every enemy he went against had to see defeat by Triark.
Dion Triark was called the future of Marius and he quickly bavame Corporal of the Martius Army.
Dion is just and fair against friends as well as against enemies and he is respected and feared all over Krivana.

Name: Seleron Cross
Age: 22 years
Class: Prince
Bio: Seleron Cross is the prince of Calridia, and is skilled in the sword, he is deeply respected by all of Calridia, he allways solves the problems that arises.
The people of Calridia believes that Seleron can bring peace to Krivana, and they will sacrifice themselfes for him, his men want to be just like him.
Seleron respects Dion even thou they never met.

Name: Alastair Dimcle
Age: 35 years
Class Chancelor
Bio: Alastair Dimcle is the chancelor and long time friend of King Alaman, he is the most inteligent person in Galaria and trusted by the King and even by the people of Galaria.
He lost his parent at a young age, and no one knows who killed them.

Story
The Land Krivana , a peacefull land with three nations.
Kingdom of Martius in the middle ruled by King Murnus, and the first one that was founded.
Kingdom of Calridia to the west ruled by King Cross, and the secon one that was founded.
And Kingdom of Galaria to the south ruled by King Alaman, the youngest country.

But this peace is about to end, Martius is going to war with Calridia, Galaria is trying to be neutral despite effords from both Martius and Calridia to get Galaria to join thier side.

In Martius:
Corporal Dion Triark, have recieved an invite to the castle, King Murnus has a mission for him, to get a Magical Item in the southern Fire Cavern.
It is said the person that holds this Item will bring prosperity and peace, but something is not told about this item.

In Calridia:
Prince Seleron Cross has recieved a mission to get a magical item from the southern ruins, the King thinks this item will help him win the war against Martius.
Yet again he is never told what will happen when the item gets removed from the ruins.

In Galaria:
Chancelor Alastair Dimcle recieved a mission to go to the northeren forrest to get a magical item, the King was told this item will bring peace to the land, but even he don't know what happens when the item is removed.

Well your story isnt swell. Honestly, this sounds like the typical war story. 2 countries at war and one is caught in the middle of it. Its sorta boring and manilla to be honest with you. Try expanding new ideas and adding a story that is somewhat original. :)

Your mapping isnt great either, you need to work on that. One thing I notice are the indoor maps. One they are way too big, and two, there are no walls. That grey border in the first and second screenshot isnt a wall, its a path. In the last screenshot, you have borders, but no wall. Use the wall autotile they give you. Also, dont be so stingy about using multiple maps. The screenshot that tajes place outide isnt good either. You dont need four roof colors. And the building shapes are also dull. Variety, variety. variety. :)

In conclusion, this sounds like your first project, and it shows. One thing you are missing is an original, entraling story. Thisnk outside the box, try doing something else, or make it original. Mapping needs improvement too. Things are clashings, there are no wall, too muh blank space, ect. My suggestion, try going to the mapping improvement thread and get some advice. Also, Lunar Ecclipse has a thread avout mapping in Vx. Check it out, as it may be worthwhile. :)
 
I disagree with coolio don't concern yourself with story. Get it playable. And the first obvious issue is mapping. We have tons of tutorials and support on the matter but here's some brief tips. First, check out the sample maps. You are misusing a lot of tiles, and just looking at a bunch of the sample interiors and exterior maps provided by rmvx will give you an idea of how to use their tiles to create believable walls and such. Second plan ahead on your mapping. When working with interiors try and map out where the rooms will go and what will be in them. Layout the rooms logically, why would a king have the kitchen and dining room in the same room? Does he like to dine with the cooks? Think of function and usability for the rooms, and you'll find it'll be easier to make them because you won't be scrambling around with random things to fill space. Finally with interiors you'll find you don't need as much space as you think. Most common thing beginner's do is create massive interiors with nothing in them. Hope that was helpful. Share your stuff on the mapping improvement thread to get more feedback on your maps in detail.
